Hello and welcome to Platos Kave!

This forum was created as a retreat for spirited discussion on the seemingly mercurial nature of Enlightenment. A place to relax with your cup of java (Ka've') to explore specific themes inferred in Plato's cave allegory and updated to the cinema analogy by Jed Mckenna in the first book of his trilogy, Spiritual Enlightenment, the Damnedest Thing. It is meant to be causal as well as casual, the intention being that while any serious exploration of personal enlightenment is by nature a singular endeavor, there is still room for discussion, support and levity from others exploring similar ground.

Liken it to the early trappers and mountain men exploring uncharted territory, few even dared these wilds and while many traveled alone, one can only assume they all approached campfire on a distant ridge warily, assessing the fire tender's veracity while attempting to gather any information about the immediate country and beyond, nearby pitfalls, hostiles, dead end trails and box canyons as well as info on the best hunting grounds. At worst he could expect a little sustenance and at the very least a bit of camaraderie on his occasionally lonely sojourn.

So it is here, a place for the few who actually set out, to research the knowledge shared by others, warm your hands by the fire and gather (release) thoughts. A trading post where information and stories can be shared on THE most amazing journey one can take.

A couple of basic rules:
1 Rather than having a thousand threads to search through, make your own personal thread for questions and responses rrom forum members and then we can also have threads about standard subjects like "ACIM" or "Good Books" or "Damnedest" as these develop they may become stickies.
2 No flaming, if you want to pick on someone go find your little brother. Spirited debate is welcome. No disputes.
3 Members must have read Jed McKenna's "Damnedest". This is a platform for communication about topics that don't translate well into language, Damnedest is "home base" for this forum, shared knowledge of it is an important prerequisite for intelligible conversation and communication (is that even possible?) as well as separating the serious finder from the dilettante.
4 Post anything here that has to do with your journey, you can import post's from the Jed Mckenna forum if you would like to discuss particular issues brought up there (since there is no way to discuss them there).
