I don't feel very welcomed. I thought this was a forum in the spirit of Jed McKenna, but I guess I was wrong.

You don't die in a dream Kristen. You wake up. Unfortunately for you this is not a dream and I think you have a pretty good idea of that which is why you don't light yourself on fire like an idiot.
Any reason why you'd object to lighting yourself on fire Kristen?
Doesn't seem like a difficult question.
Maybe it's the fire, it's too much. How about on coming traffic? Would you ever go sit on the highway and type this diddy?If... (as Jed and a well known nursery rhyme says) Life is but a dream
And... Everything in a dream is not real
Then... Life is not real
every thing in life is not real, including "the world" and "you" and "me" and whatever we do to each other or ourselves or the environment or whatever. "Accepting what is", to me, simply means that you accept that it is all a dream, an illusion, and it therefore does not matter enough to upset you.
Yes or no?
If... (as Jed and a well known nursery rhyme says) Life is but a dream
And... Everything in a dream is not real
Then... Life is not real
That means: every thing in life is not real, including "the world" and "you" and "me" and whatever we do to each other or ourselves or the environment or whatever. "Accepting what is", to me, simply means that you accept that it is all a dream, an illusion, and it therefore does not matter enough to upset you. This does not mean you don't react to it, or take action against it (you can do that if you choose so, or you choose not to, and both choices are cool — that is also what is). It only means that, whatever the outcome of your reaction or actions, or the lack of it, you accept it for what it is. You do not get angry, because it's not really real. This, to me, is all "accepting what is" means: you do not take things personally and it cannot effect your inner peace.
But what if I DO get angry? That cool or naw? This is a serious question.
Who determined that we should accept everything except for not accepting everything?
This is an example of how a "spiritual ego" is still just an ego. Not trying to offend. In Jed terminology it's just further or back there depending on where you're at. Like try less. Imo
